Good things have been happening at Ikhaya Labantwana Montessori and the wonderful children are reaping the benefits on every level. As we prepared for the 3rd term, it was really wonderful to observe the 3 assistant teachers, Nokuthula, Irene and Fundiswa with their Montessori notes, setting up the Activities of Everyday living shelf and the Sensorial shelf, practising what they have learned thus far in their Montessori training.
It is clear to see that the children are very happy to be back at school and they quickly settled back into their daily routine, after the three-week break.
I started getting very excited during July…….. as Ikhaya Labantwana Montessori was getting another Montessori Directress, for 4 months and a very experienced one at that. We are very grateful and blessed to have Jennifer Moore with us till the end of the year. Jen will be teaching me things, guiding the children and working with the 12 ladies who are doing their Montessori studies. Happy days at Ikhaya Labanatwana Montessori!
Jennifer arrived with a car loaded with Montessori materials donated to Ikhaya Labantwana Montessori by Auburn House in Cape Town. Some sanding, some gluing and a lick of paint and the materials will be as good as new. A massive thank you from our satellite Montessori schools, as they are the benefactors of these materials.
There was another gift for Ikhaya Labantwana Montessori and this was beautiful early reading material from Afriphonics A huge thanks for this wonderful, much-needed material.
We are having the official handing over of Ikhaya Labantwana Montessori by the National Development Agency to Sustainable Coffee Bay later this month, so I will be sure to share this big even with you all.
Thank you for your interest and support
