Congratulations to the three Coffee Bay girls, Yonela Gwangqa, Nompumelelo Rixi and Luleka Jokanisi who had bursaries at the South African College of  Tourism in Graaff Reinet in 2010 and all passed well.  They were the first students from our area to secure these 1-year bursaries and the girls were trained in Hospitality Mangement.  Nompumelelo and Luleka have secured themselves jobs at Coffee Shack Backpackers in Coffee Bay and Yonela is working at the National Zebra Park in Graaff Reinet.

We started interviewing the 2011 applicants in August 2010 and the girls had to go through an intense interview process.  The final three girls were accepted by the South African College of  Tourism and bursaries were awarded to Nokuvela Tshemese, Buyiswa Mdlandla and Zikhona Shukuma.

I bid the girls farewell on Friday morning at 06h00 and wish them the best of luck with their training in Graaff Reinet!
